At The Urban Parrot, we are passionate about giving exotic birds a second chance at life and love. Based in Tempe, Arizona, our rescue provides a safe haven for parrots and other exotic birds in need. From re-homing efforts to lifelong sanctuary care, we are dedicated to ensuring these incredible creatures thrive in all walks (and flights!) of life. Because The Urban Parrot is currently operated out of a residential property, we ask that you please contact us in advance to schedule any visitation including adoption appointments, surrender appointments, large donation drop-offs, and meet-and-greets.

Our Mission

To responsibly rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home exotic birds while educating the community about responsible bird ownership (we like to call it "stewardship"), and the plight of parrots in their natural (and unfortunately diminishing) wild habitats. Review our full mission statement here!

What We Offer

• Rescue & Rehabilitation: Providing expert care to birds who need medical attention and/or disability support, parrot-led positive-reinforcement behavioral modification, or just a fresh start.

• Adoptions: Connecting knowledgeable, parrot-passionate families with birds that are ready to find their forever homes.

• Education: Sharing knowledge to help bird owners create healthier, happier environments for their feathered companions. Public events to bring light to the risks faced by wild parrot populations including poaching, illegal sale/trade, habitat loss, social dynamics, and more. Catering to birthday parties, corporate events, and school programs to foster a sense of passion and wonder that benefits all involved by utilizing a dedicated team of highly-socialized birds who crave human interaction.

• Lifetime Sanctuary: Offering a permanent home for birds unable to be adopted due to health, behavior, or other needs. (Please contact for sanctuary availability).
